1. What is a bucket list?
Kicking the bucket means dying. Game over. Pushing up the daisies! So ticking items off your bucket list means doing some things you love and enjoy before that happens! 2. How do you make your own bucket list?
Just take a while to think of the things that you hope to see, do, achieve and experience while alive. Discard or trim the completely unrealistic ones (ok, you might never win an Olympic Medal but you could win gold at the local sports day). Remember this is a "to-do" list; not a "to-dream" list 😊 Then DO IT! You'd be amazed what you can do "if you put it before yourself!" 3. the 80b480 bucket list doesn't float your boat so why should you read my blog posts?
As I say in Blog 1, it takes all sorts to make a world. I would be amazed if everyone wanted to do what I like to do. Do whatever "floats your boat". Just don't keep "putting things on the long finger". You still might find some things on my list of interest to you. And even if you have no intention of drafting and doing your own bucket list, you might enjoy reading my tips and learning from my experiences. 4. who is mary?
My full name is Mary Theresa Phelan and I was born in beautiful Carrick-on-Suir in the mid-1960s in the South-East of Ireland. We call it the "Sunny South-East" but that's often more optimism than experience .....as anyone who has ever holidayed in Ireland can attest to🌞🌦🌧. 5. where do i live?
I live in Dublin, Ireland....at the very centre of the city. I've lived in Dublin for coming up to 30 years. Though Carrick will always be home. 6. what do i work at?
I'm a Chartered Accountant by profession or an "Adder Upper". I headed up the Finance Dept. of a large financial services company for over 18 years until I had a stroke and multiple organ failure in 2017. I'm currently focussed on improving my mobility, dexterity and memory. This blogging stuff should help! 7. Why has my bucket list got so many travel items in it?
As a child, one of my mother's favourite songs to sing to me was "Far Away Places". I was inspired, as the song says, "to see for myself those far away places I've been reading about in a book that I took from the shelf". I've been to China but not yet Siam! 8. how do i know that i'll live to be over 80?
The answer is "I don't". But I've been lucky and blessed to date so you never know! If you have any other questions, please "Email Me" at [email protected] or message me on the 80b480 social media sites using the buttons here. Many Thanks!
